Leave/Quit/Step Away
Any cheerleader that leaves a team for any reason after the first official game of the season other than a reason approved by the PHLYFC Rebels Executive Board will be charged an additional $250.00 dollars. This rule has been implemented for the reason that a cheer squad practices and competitions includes every member of the team and every member of the team is a necessary and important part of the success of the team. Choreography of every routine is based on each of the members of the team and having one member or multiple members leave the team after the routines have been created, implemented and practiced hurt the entire team not just the one person leaving. Routines require the practice and need of everyone on the team. You may approach the board to discuss leaving the team for any reason at any time. There are certain reasons that are automatically approved (Medical with release from physician) If your cheerleader leaves for any other reason other than one approved by the Rebels board you will be charged the $250.00 fee and no fee's paid to this point will be refunded.

Website, Pictures and Social Network Release
The Rebels official Website, Facebook, Myspace, Instagram and yearbook area's are run and operated by the Rebels Board. As participants in the PHLYFC Rebels all pictures and video taken by official representatives may be used for the Website, Facebook, Myspace, Instagram, and yearbook. Pictures and Video will not be distributed or used in any other manner than to show participation or promote the PHLYFC Rebels. I agree to allow the PHLYFC Rebels to use any pictures or video of my student athlete for the above reasons only.

Below are general rules and important information you and your child will need for the 2015 season.

Birth Certificates and Physical Cards
Cheerleaders are required to provide original birth certificate (must have a raised seal NO COPIES) in order to participate this is mandated by the NorCal Conference not by the PHLYFC. In addition all cheerleaders will need to have a current physical card (we will provide the card) stamped signed and dated by their medical doctor insuring the child can participate in our program. Your physician must sign one of our physical cards it may not be any document from your doctor. Make sure to have one of our physical cards with you when you go to get your physical. The card must be signed, not stamped, by the doctor in the current calendar year (2015). Participants are NOT allowed to practice without a completed Medical Card. The deadline is July 28th.

Communication
We will have an open communication policy if there is any athlete or parent that would like to discuss anything before, during, or after the season please do not hesitate to speak with VP Cheer (Angie Perez-Lotman). We will send email updates throughout the season. It’s imperative we have your correct email address.

General Rules
• Dress Code - All cheerleaders, Jr. Coaches and adult coaches must wear appropriate clothing to all Rebels function's and events. Practice attire preferably can be T-shirts, shorts or sweat pants. Athletic shoes or sneakers and socks must be worn. Hair must be pulled back into a high pony tail and NO BANGS :).
The following are examples of items that are not acceptable to wear: Crop tops, half tops or spaghetti straps, short shorts, flip flops, any type of jeans. No jewelry or earrings (this is also a conference rule) No artificial nails, nails for cheer must be cut short to the tips of fingers. No finger nail polish
• No Make up (this means NO MAKE UP AT ALL! Not even Glitter, again this is a conference rule) Discipline. It is expected that all cheerleaders will conduct themselves with appropriate behavior throughout cheer practice, games, competitions and any other PHYLF Rebels event as well as school. Participants, who goof off, talk back or engage in any inappropriate behavior among them or others will not be tolerated. Cheerleaders who get in trouble at their school (fighting, suspended, expelled, etc..) will face consequences deemed appropriate by PHLYFC Board. Rules that are broken can result in the following but not limited to, extra running or conditioning either an individual cheerleader or entire team. Also cheerleaders can be benched at a football game, the cheerleader will still have to check in but will sit with her team but be "out" of the game. After a first warning is given to a cheerleader for an inappropriate behavior a meeting with the child's parents and cheer coordinator will take place, if behavior continues the third set will be a meeting with parents, cheer coordinator and VP of cheer and removal from the team process will start. We understand that children make mistakes but we cannot have disruptive and inappropriate behavior at Rebels.

Team spirit and unity will be expected on and off the field. We will not tolerate anyone belittling of another cheerleader. If you are having trouble with an individual, talk to your head coaches or the cheer coordinator. Part of being on PHYLF Rebels is being a good role model for others on your team as well as girls on other Rebels teams. Cell phones, text messages, Facebook, My Space and Twitter messages will not be tolerated when used inappropriately among your teammates or other teams within this league and will be grounds for immediate dismissal from PHLYF REBELS. Parents are welcomed at cheer practice, but please do not allow cheerleaders to bring friends, boyfriends, pets, etc since this is a disruption during practice. If parents decide to attend cheer practices they must watch from designated parent areas. Please be on time when dropping off and picking up your child.

Game Day
Cheerleaders are required to be present at each game unless illness or an absence has been discussed with cheer coordinator or head coach. As per NorCal Conference rules cheerleaders can ONLY miss a total of 2 games. Upon the third absence it will be required that the cheer coordinator report to the conference the absence and the cheerleader will be removed from the squad. Cheerleaders are required to bring ALL Cheer Uniform pieces to each game, and meet their coach 45 minutes before their scheduled game time. Cheerleaders must be in FULL UNIFORM and hair will be in a high pony tail, when they meet their coach. Conference rules are that we must all look the same, if it is winter time and one cheerleader forgets a warm-up no one can wear their warm-ups. (So bring all Cheer Uniform Pieces in your cheer bag to every REBELS EVENT).

The following are general game times:
• Scouts -8:30am (Mascots will need to be at their game at 7:45am)
• Jr. Pee Wee -10:00am (cheerleaders will need to arrive at 9:15am)
• Pee Wee -12:00pm (cheerleaders will need to arrive at 11:15am)
• Jr. Midget -2:00pm (cheerleaders will need to arrive at 1:15pm)
• Midget -4:00pm (cheerleaders will need to arrive at 3:15pm)

Tardy or late check-in, if a cheerleader arrives to the field after team check-in and the opposing team has already checked us in, he/she will be required to sit out the first quarter of the game as per conference rules. Check in will be completed during the first quarter as teams perform their "Hello Cheer".

Practice Commitment
Football practice starts August 3rd at 6:00pm at College Park High School. Regular practice sessions are Monday through Friday from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, during the month of July/ August. Jamboree is the weekend of August 23rd & 24th . Final football rosters will be determined after Jamboree. The Scout squad does not participate in Jamboree. League play officially starts in September. Practices are reduced to three days a week (Tues-Thurs). Games are played on Saturdays, and continue into early November. Some games may be played on Sundays if there is a League conflict. Play-offs follow League Play and the Championship Game (Turkey Bowl) is on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. There are no Play-offs at the Scout level.

Absence Policy
A participant’s safety and knowledge of plays, and the fact that your teammates depend on you, makes all practices in August mandatory. Failure to attend practices may contribute to any coach’s final roster decisions (that means you may not make the team).

Dress Code
Though most practice and game equipment is provided to participants, some dress guidelines are in order. Players need to provide a protective cup, cleats and a t-shirt. Shirts with messages deemed in poor taste by coaches or Board Members will not be allowed. Practice jerseys are provided for conditioning week and all other football equipment will be provided for full contact practices. All jewelry including earrings, neck chains, etc. is prohibited at all times. The best guideline is to use good common sense when dressing for practice and games. Game pants CANNOT be worn for practice pants.

Rosters
Rosters will be published for the exclusive use of Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Youth Football and Cheer, its participants and parents. Unauthorized use of this information for commercial, promotion, and political activities is strictly prohibited. State and federal law, as well as the policies and procedures of the Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Rebels Board of Directors prohibit the use of rosters by anyone other than the coaching staff or Board of Directors of the Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Rebels. Violators will be subject to expulsion from the Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Rebels program.

Code of Conduct
As a Rebel participant, you represent the Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Rebels on and off the field. All members will refrain from unsportsmanlike behavior and foul language. Team members will treat each other, the Coaching Staff and Board Members with respect at all times. Any use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco or illegal substances will be grounds for automatic dismissal or other disciplinary actions. The coaches or the Board of Directors will not tolerate hazing of the younger players.

Scholar Athlete Awards
It is the Rebels’ goal to promote excellence in both academic and sporting achievements. The Scholar Athlete Award is presented by the DVYFC to league students who maintain a 3.5 GPA, with no “C”s. Rebels eligible for the DVYFC Award must complete a required personal information essay and autobiography. Forms will be available on the Rebels website during the entire season.

Parent Participation
The Football and Cheer programs are completely dependent upon parent participation to make each week run smoothly. Each Rebels Family will be required to volunteer at least 12 hours for the season and 2 hours for the Jamboree. You will be able to sign up for your volunteer hours at a time and date TBA. You will be notified by email when it is your time to sign up. It is the responsibility of the parent that is signed up to provide accurate coverage of the volunteer time if you are not able to attend. Any changes of coverage must be communicated to the Parent Volunteer Coordinator 24 hours prior to your volunteer time. All volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate. We offer the opportunity to buy out your volunteer time. These buy out fees are due at registration and are non-refundable. The buyout fee is $250.

Scholarship Donations and Program
The Rebels organization has developed a scholarship program in order to provide the opportunity for qualifying candidates to participate in our Football and Cheer programs. For more details please contact one of the PHLYFC Board Members.

The sustainability of such a program is dependent on the generosity of the members of the Rebels organization and corporate sponsors. Donations are accepted through the Sportability link found on the Pleasant Hill Lamorinda Rebels website at www.phrebels.org.
