Issaquah dominated time of possession in the first half but had a hard time burying it and Columbine made the most of their few chances. 4-3 Issaquah at half.

Third quarter belonged to Columbine as the Rebels scored four times in the period including a fastbreak goal off a poor Issaquah turnover and a man-up. Issaquah kept game close as Jake Fritz intercepted a clearing pass and scored what amounted to an empty net as the keeper struggled to get back in. 7-6 Columbine after three quarters.

Issaquah tied the game midway through the period. After several good looks, Evan Greenhall inverted and beat his man at X to put in a wrap around. Issaquah then took the lead at 2:14 when Todd Jones initiated on a wing and found Fritz on the backside for a catch and rip. After stopping Columbine on the next possession Issaquah looked to run out the clock but had the ball stripped behind the net with a minute to play. The Rebels scored on the transition and tied the game at 8 with 51 seconds to play. Columbine won the next faceoff and took a quick shot but O'Neil Hughes was equal to the task. He saved and cleared to Kevin Powers. Powers settled the ball with just under 30 seconds to play and gave it up to Jones. Jones again initiated on the wing. This time he beat his man on his own and got to about 6 yards out before beating the keeper himself. Issaquah tied up the next faceoff briefly before Columbine won possession but the Issaquah D held and kept the Rebels from getting off a final shot.
