Playing a game in California for the first time ever, Issaquah managed a quick start, jumping to a 2-0 lead in the first 3 minutes. Eagles proceeded to be in command most of the quarter, but unfortunately continued to be plagued by a lack of fundamentals in key situations and opened the door for the Knights to tie it up inside last 3 minutes of the quarter.
Knights actually took the lead before, KJ Lewis tied the game early in the 2nd quarter at 3-3 but San Marcos took the lead at half and gained full control in the 3rd quarter. Issaquah's inability to finish combined with some stellar play from the Knights netminder eventually built San Marcos a 10-5 lead early in the 4th. Issaquah had one last surge but too many failed chances inside the last 4 minutes kept the Eagles from truly threatening the final result.
