Issaquah 4-6-1-2- 13
Eastlake 2-2-3-1- 8

Beautiful night for lacrosse with both 4A Semifinals taking place on the Sammamish Plateau just a mile apart, at Eastlake and Skyline respectively.

Issaquah came out hot as Cale Gunter scored in the first 12 seconds. Minutes later, KJ Lewis found Junior LSM, Spencer Blumenthal running in transition. Michael Hyde followed with a solo wraparound to give Issaquah a 3-0 lead before Eastlake had really possessed much. Wolves settled in and found net twice. 4-2 Issaquah after one.

The second quarter would proof to be pivotal as Issaquah got several huge goals from multiple unexpected sources. Running at attack, Freshman, Tyler Morton scored on an inside roll from X. Wolves go one back, but Senior, SSDM Michael Hansen scored his second in two games, running in transition. That was followed by a huge goal from Freshman, Richard Skelly to push the lead to 7-3. Eastlake got one back again with two minutes in the half before Issaquah made the most of two broken plays in rattling off three before before the half would end. TJ Victory gobbled a rebound behind the net and scored from a sharp angle with the keeper out. Michael Hyde followed with his second (the only two goal scorer in the half) with 18 seconds left. Still time for one more as, Gunter won the face and pushed to Rafael Bloch on the doorstep. The pass was low and while bouncing next to the crease, Bloch's slapshot found the back of the net. 10-4 Issaquah at half, seemingly in control as 9 different players had tallied goals!

Unfortunately, the Wolves played without All-American, Gavin Dallas, sitting with concussion issues. But kudos to Senior LSM, Brian Straw as his fight and energy kept Eastlake in it. He had a goal and an assist in the first half and in the 3rd quarter his energy at the faceoff X changed the tide. Eastlake had Issaquah on their heels, forced into poor decision and turnovers that the Wolves capitalized on. A 3-1 quarter in favor of Eastlake had the final in doubt entering the 4th.

Eastlake score the first of the final stanza to cut the lead to 8-11 and seemed like things might get interesting. But Issaquah capitalized on a huge man-up with just under 8 to play. TJ Victory's laser glanced off the keeper's shoulder and into the top corner to put Issaquah back up 4.
Another big goal from Freshman, Richard Skelly, albeit somewhat of a fluke registered as the final tally. Issaquah got stops and ran much of the last four minutes out to advance to a WHSBLA Championship game for the first time since 2014.

Issaquah record: 6-4-0
Eastlake record against Issaquah: 1-0-0
