Wow... what a way to end the season! Great night for lacrosse and an energetic crowd was treated to a good one.

Skyline struck first but Issaquah rattled off 4 straight. Spartans came roaring back and took their 2nd lead of the game at 5-4 early in the 2nd quarter. Then a pattern struck until the 4th quarter... tied at 6-6, Issaquah up 2, then tied at 8-8, Issaquah up 2, then tied at 10-10 before Issaquah took a one goal lead into the 4th. Joe Vermuelen seemingly single-handedly kept the Spartans in it finsihing 5g,3a on the night.

Unable to regain another two goal advantage, this time Skyline turned the tables, taking their 3rd lead of the game at 12-11 with just over 5 minutes to play. Issaquah went man-up, but Skyline keeper came up big at the doorstep. Spartans failed to clear though giving Issaquah another chance and Richards found Gunter on the back side to tie it up.

A huge defensive stop for Issaquah, a clear and a timeout with under 1:30 left provided opportunity for Gunter to find the net again, this time off an initiation from Luke Read. Having owned the faceoffs all night, Skyline had a final chance. A huge saving check from Andrew Garrett kept Skyline from finishing on the doorstep. Then after Skyline followed with a one off the pipe Issaquah took a penalty on the ensuing scramble with just 3 seconds on the clock... not enough time for Skyline to execute a man-up and Issaquah swept the season series.

A gutty performance from the purple and gold led by Jack Richards and Cale Gunter as the two combined for 11 of Issaquah's 13 goals.

Issaquah record: 4-3-0
Skyline record against Issaquah: 0-2-0
