Registration is open to all girls and boys without regard to city residence. Grade is determined as of September 2022. Everyone Plays! Every player, regardless of experience or ability, shall play at least two (2) full quarters from start to finish of each game. WHO There are 6 divisions: 1. Boys 1st grade 2. Boys 2nd Grade 3. Boys 3/4th grade 4. Boys 5th/6th grade 5. Girls 1st/2nd grade 6. Girls 3rd/4th grade PLAYING TIMES All boys games are played on Saturdays. Parents should check with WCYAA before registering in the event your child is not available to play or practice on Saturday or Sunday. UNIFORMS All players must wear their official WCYAA jersey and shorts to participate in games. TEAMS Teams for the Boys 5th/6th grade division shall be formed by a draft. All other divisions shall be formed based on school grade, gender, residence or school attended. The child of the Head Coach and "Designated Assistant Coach" of each team shall be placed on the team they coach. WCYAA requires certification as a NYSCA Basketball Coach (at WCYAA expense) as a prerequisite to appointment as a coach. THERE ARE NO TEAM PLACEMENT GUARANTEES OF ANY KIND. RATINGS DAY All players in the 5/6th grade division must attend a MANDATORY EVALUATION DAY at Foothill Middle School on October 22, 2022. SEASON The season will begin on November 12,2022 and conclude on February 11,2023 All games will be held on Saturdays at Foothill Middle School located at 2775 Cedro Lane, Walnut Creek. SPONSORS Businesses and individuals are needed to sponsor teams. Sponsor fees are $295.00. Sponsors receive an appreciation plaque, listing on Sponsor page of website and may designate the team on which their child will play in non-draft divisions (subject to grade and age restrictions). Participation Award All players receive a participant award at the end of the season. |
