Description The Basic Skills Program has been designed specifically to teach the fundamental moves in the sport of ICE SKATING. This program is the officially recognized curriculum for figure skating and hockey. Both sports have a basic root in learning to do forward and backward skating, as well as stopping, edge control, crossovers and numerous different turns.

Basic 1-8 (ages 6-16)
Curriculum includes: March forward, two-foot glide, dip, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, snowplow stop, rocking horse, two-foot hop.

Edges, turns, forward and backward crossovers, and progress to three turns and elementary jumps and spins are taught beginning at Basic 2.

Snowplow Sam (ages 4-5)
Curriculum includes: Standing, proper way to fall & get up, marching forward, two-foot glide, dip, backward wiggles, rocking horse, forward one-foot glides, forward swizzles, backward swizzles, snowplow stop, forward slaloms.

Learn to Skate Hockey 1-4
The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn to move faster and be more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamental to be successful in game situations.

Adult Basic Skills
Curriculum includes: March forward, two-foot glide, dip, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, snowplow stop, rocking horse, two-foot hop.

Skate rental and 8 practice times included. Annual membership in US Figure Skating ($15) is required.
