Description
2010 will be the 14th season for Liberty League. Games are played on virtually every day of the week—Monday through Friday in the late afternoon and on Saturdays and Sundays all during the day. Most games are played at Rogers Park, which is located one block west of Western, and one block north of Touhy on Rockwell. Some games are played every week at Warren Park, 6601 North Western Ave. Finally, some games are played at other diamonds located in the northern part of Chicago. In 2010, teams will play 20 games before the playoffs begin, provided the weather cooperates. Evaluations for players new to the league are normally held in late April and in early May. The time and location of these evaluations will be announced. The Liberty League draft will be conducted in mid-May. Parents and players do not attend the draft. The season concludes with a banquet on the Friday before the WPPA picnic, July 30th, 2010, where dinner is provided and awards are distributed. Every year players make new friends, have a lot of fun, learn more about the game, hone their skills and have moments right out of the Field of Dreams.
