Description	The Clemson Ice Hockey Youth Clinic will help individuals improve their skill set with an emphasis on fundamentals and situational play. The coaches will educate the players on important preparation, teamwork, and communication skills. The clinic consists of 60 minutes of on-ice instruction which will prepare players for the upcoming season. There will be two age groups consisting of ages 8-11 and ages 12-15. The participants will receive a Clemson practice jersey. Previous skating experience is required. Key points of instruction include: - Individual skill development - Power skating - Puck control - Passing - Shooting - Situational Play - Back Checking - Fore Checking - Agility - Lateral Movements - Flow and Team Concepts Coaches scheduled to participate: •Steve Nutty Clemson University Head Coach Utica College (2003-2007) Syracuse Stars AAA •Matt Whirley Clemson University Captain (2005-2008) Laconia Leafs Junior Hockey Team (IJHL) Burlington (VT) Midget AAA •Dave Werner Clemson University Captain Utica College (2005-2007) Capital District Selects Junior Hockey Team (EJHL) Chicago Mission Midget AAA •Cheryl Faust Power Skating Specialist PSA Master Rated Coach The Clinic consists of 10 sessions. The Clinic meets Wednesday nights 6:30 - 7:30 pm for ages 8-11 and 7:45 - 8:45 pm for ages 12-15. Full equipment is required to participate.
