| Game Summary | On Saturday, the Islanders and Monarchs played a very tight game for first place in the SOLL division. The Monarchs took the early lead 3-0 until the Islanders exploded for four runs in the bottom of the second. The game went back and forth with the teams tied 6-6 in the sixth inning. In the 6th, ZaneK singled, SamG walked and KevinC hit a single to left field to win the game for the Islanders by a score of 7-6. SamG had 3 hits and 3 RBS's and ScottC and MichaelT each had two hits. Islanders starting pitcher AronK only gave up 3 runs in 3 innings and JoshF held the Monarchs scoreless to close the game. Both teams are now tied for first place with 9-2 records. For the Monarchs, CaseC made a great catch in right,ripped a single, stole 2 bases and scored. MichaelM (2 hits,2walks) extended his consecutive on base streak to his last 20 at-bats. JoeyD (single,walk)started a center to second double play. |
