Pelicans Notes:
A great morning for baseball - clear skies, freshly mown field and first and second season winners eager to show their wares.

Deuce and PhilipL were both dealing on the mound and both posted goose eggs thru 3. The defenses on both sides were ready to play from the getgo - Bulldog made several sliding catches in CF and the infields both looked crisp as the game progressed.

In the 4th, the Pels capitalized on a Mariners' error and a crucial basehit by Stripes to go up 2-0. In the bottom of the 4th, the M's answered with a run of their own on JoeyD's double and JeremyH's single.

Philip kept throwing zeroes on the board and ET came on for the Pels to put up a zero of his own in the 5th. The M's would plate the tying run in the 6th on MattB's clutch single to centerfield.

In the 7th, MattK took over and set the Pels down in order. After ET's two inning interlude, Deuce returned to the mound for the Pels and had a dicey, but scoreless 7th. With 2 outs, the M's rallied to load the bases, but couldn't plate the winning run. The Pels scored the goahead run on CoolHand Luke's sacrifice to LF, and PopTart's double added some insurance.

Deuce finished the game off in the 8th to give the Pels the win.
