Team Summaries Pelicans Notes:
In the late game Sunday night, the Pels and Angels both arrived at Caldecott fresh off of tough losses Saturday afternoon wondering who would get a split for the weekend.

The Angels came out gangbusters, putting every ball in play and batting around in the first plating 6. On the mound for the Pelicans, Bulldog kept his compsure despite watching an uncharacteristic scene of errors and poor choices by his defense. By the third inning, the Pels defense had gotten their feet under them, but they were down 10-1.

The Big Easy took the mound for the Pels in the 4th, and he was the spark they needed to get their offense going. Notching outs on his first 3 pitches (a streak he would extend to 4 pitches in the next inning), James pitched a masterful 4 innings. He faced just 3 batters more than the minimum over those 4 innings, and the Pels didn't see a ball hit hard over that span. Coolhand Luke cleaned up the one single James allowed with a perfect throw to 2nd base.

Once Big Easy had established the tone, the Pels bats came alive - 4 runs in the 5th and 3 loud outs in the 6th left the Pels down 6 but feeling good going into the final half inning. The Pelicans put the pressure on the Angels D by getting a bat on almost every ball in the inning. As a team, the Pels hit 5 clean singles, walked once and put 4 more balls in play that required near pefect execution. Down 2, with 2 outs and 2 on, Poptart lined a 2strike shot to third base and beat the throw to first, tying the game. Big Easy followed with a single and Killer Kyle put on 0-2 pitch into center field to win the game.
