| Team Summaries | Pelicans Notes: A beautiful day for baseball at Witter Field in Piedmont, and two teams came ready to play! Docto Feelgood took the mound for the Pels, and settled right into the rhythm he's been in all season. He matched the Mariners' pitchers inning for inning, with both teams scoring 2 in the first, 1 each in the 5th and 6th. Feelgood gave up just 4 hits, and only took 3ball counts to 4 hitters. Thru the top of the 7th it was tied at 4 all, and coaching skill (or lack of it) reared its ugly head. The Pels' coach was tripped up by a perfectly placed center fielder and ran his team into an rally-killing double play. The Mariners took the momentum from the big play and turned it into a run in the top of the 8th. 2 infield hits and 2 walks gave them a run and the bases were loaded with no outs, but Killer Kyle got out of the jam with 2Ks and a comebacker. MattK finished a strong day on the mound by setting the Pels down 1-2-3 in the 8th for the win. Congrats to the Mariners on a great win! Mariners Notes: |
