Team Summaries Astros Notes:
A complete game gem from Geo led the surging Stros to a victory in the nightcap at Willard. The Astros played flawless D, including great plays by Goose at short, Davey in RF and Spyk behind the plate.

Mets Notes:
On a cloudy Saturday evening at Willard, the Mets encountered an inspired Astros squad determined to prove the old adage, “pitching and defense win ballgames.” Despite losing narrowly, the Mets played well overall. Michael G. pitched four strong innings highlighted by a pickoff move that caught an Astros runner straying a bit too far from first base. Grayson N. pitched well for the final two innings. There also were some excellent plays on defense, including a dramatic sliding catch in center field by Connor W.

The Mets struggled offensively, but highlights included run-scoring triples by Nigel C. and Charlie S. Also noteworthy was the return from the DL of Nate W., who celebrated by hitting a single in his first at bat.
