Game Summary | The Red Sox big bats came alive in this one on five doubles by Andrew Nelson, Jacob Southworth, RyanTower, Matt Sanford, and Alexander Bentz. The Red Sox pitching staff pitched five shutout innings led by Alexander Bentz who pitched three innings of hitless baseball. Ryan Tower also held the Royals scoreless for an inning. For the Royals, Nick Wright started and pitched well, although the Royals defense allowed the Red Sox early scoring opportunities. Royal Andrew McFann made a spectacular running catch in centerfield, Ryan Madden pitched well in relief, and Wright and Willy Fogarty each had doubles. |
