Game Summary The NOLL Champion Monarchs and SOLL Champion Astros were thrilled to face off at Chabot before a AAA-season-record crowd at beautiful Chabot field, though each roster was down to just 9 with key players missing.

The Monarchs (recalling that the Astros were the only team to ever shut them out) came out swinging and it was 5 - 0 in the fourth, thanks to great baserunning and key hits by Cooper H. and Phil H. Starter Kai H. came out strong and struck out 6. Solid play by Monarchs centerfielder Ben H. kept the Astros from extra bases.

The Astros, who had roared back from 6-0 against the Stars to take the championship earlier in the week, rallied late in the fourth. Several players hit shots that went deep, but hooked foul. Jack H. scored and after Galen E. crossed the plate for the second time it was 6 - 3 going into the end of the sixth.

Monarchs second baseman Peter W. snags a towering pop fly. Pitcher Alex R. gets the batter to chase strike 3. Shortstop David B. fields a hard chopper and his hard throw to first beats the runner. Ballgame.

The game ended with hopes that both the NOLL and the SOLL champs do well in next week's Tournament of Champions.
