Game Summary | Monarchs 15 Stars 7 The early innings saw these two ball clubs locked in a tight contest. The Stars' defense, featuring John-William M. on the hill and Josh L. behind the plate, helped keep this game to a 3-3 tie in the third. But the Monarchs' Daniel A. broke things open with a bases loaded double and Aaron H., 'Hammering' Phil H. and Alex L. followed with key hits. The Stars' Cammie G., playing heads-up ball at third, combined with his brother Tucker G.'s heart-stopping catch in centerfield, worked hard to keep the game close - the Tucker-Cameron production was significant. Luke P. and Jesse B. were aggressive on the base path and kept the Stars' offense going. Once again the Monarchs showed that their defense gets tougher in the late innings. Coming off of 13 days rest, middle reliever Kai H. was more than ready to bring his best stuff. The end of the game was marked by steady infield 'D' (especially by Andrew M.) and a grounder to closer David B. who notched yet another save. |
