Game Summary | Monarchs 14 Scrappers 6. This game started off featuring defense as the Scrappers were held scoreless and hitless for three innings by the solid combination of Kai H. on the hill and Peter W. behind the plate. The score was close, 2-0, into the bottom of the third until the Monarchs' David B. broke things open by smashing a double with bases loaded. The Scrappers, fueled by wily base running by Danny D. and Jack S., rallied in the fourth, but the call to the bullpen was answered by Alex R. who came in and delivered K, K, 1-3. Later, another Monarchs rally was sparked by Ben H. who stole second and later scored. The Scrappers' bullpen also came through as Willie D. kept the Monarchs scoreless in the fifth. The Scrappers' sixth inning rally was cut short at 2 runs when Monarchs shortstop Alex L. speared a linedrive. |
