Game Summary | This was an incredibly close game with great defense by both teams. In the top of the first, the Monarchs¹Alex L and Kai H combined on a double play to stop the threatening Sounds from scoring. Later, Monarchs Daniel A and Cooper H both wowed the crowd by making tough third-to-first throws for key outs. The score was still tied 1 to 1 in the fourth, especially due to the cannon arm of the Sounds¹ catcher Bobby D and solid pitching by Noel R. The Monarchs¹ Phil H stepped up and hit a two out, bases loaded double to make it 4 - 1, then the Sounds roared back and tied it up in the top of the sixth. But, in a nail biting finish to this defensive gem of a game, the Monarchs beat the Sounds 5 to 4 when Tyler F ended the inning by sliding around the tag to score. |
