Tucson Xtreme Notes:
ON THE ROAD AGAIN WITH THE TUCSON XTREME

An Xtreme thank you to our Friends at Desert Vista for allowing us to play Saturday’s game at the Will Nolan Field. Thank You to the Bill’s, Nolan and Lynch!

Another Xtreme thanks goes to our newest friend in the Sport of Lacrosse, David Appleman, his coaching staff and Pinnacle team for agreeing to move the game site to accommodate the Tucson X -Men.

And, special congratulations to the Pinnacle Pioneer Lacrosse Team for their 8-7 win today and their first win of the season. Pinnacle was well prepared, played hard and had an answer every time they needed one.
If nothing else, the Tucson Xtreme is becoming popular for improving the opposition’s self esteem.

The X-Men were up 2-0 in the second quarter when we received a one minute non-releasable equipment penalty for an X-Man wearing a necklace. That penalty time was then aided by a Tucson coaching mistake and 33 seconds later, Pinnacle was ahead 3-2. That’s correct, an unbelievable 3 goals in 33 seconds that ultimately changed the outcome of the game. The halftime score was increased to 4-2 and a regrouping break was in order.

A shorthanded but fired up Tucson squad came out with purpose in the third stanza and appeared to take back control of the game. Goalie Ben Kagen (16 saves) and the Xtreme defense held the opposition scoreless. At the other end of the field the X-Men tallied 4 goals and took a 6-4 advantage heading into the final 12 minutes.

The Pioneers fought back and the score was tied twice in the 4th quarter. Pinnacle attackman Cody Cunningham scored the last of his 3 goals, another man-up opportunity. Ryan Malikowski (2/3) had already tallied twice in the quarter, when he got his 3rd assist of the game with 1:33 left on the clock and the eventual 8-7 final.

X-man, CJ Wysocki playing after having wisdom teeth surgery, led the scoring for Tucson with 3 goals and a team high 9 ground balls.
