| Team Summaries | Desert Vista Thunder Notes: This was a good old fasion butt kickin! The number one ranked Gilbert Tigers came to Will Nolan Field on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to face-off against third ranked Desert Vista. The game started off fast for DV who got thre point blank shots off against Gilbert goalie Donovan McQuaite in the first two minutes. Unfortunatly for the Thunder, McQuaite stuffed them all! Gilbert Attackman Sam Maxfield got the scoring started with an unasisted goal at the two minute mark. Maxfield added another three minutes later and it looked like Gilbert was getting things revved up. After one more goal by Gilbert midfielder Ryan Biggs, with five minutes left in the first, the Thunder finally got on the board with a goal by midfielder Gray Morrison. DV got a second goal four minutes later from midfielder David Ganz. The two teams traded goals and then Gilbert kicked it into high gear scoring four goals in the final two minutes of the first half. Those four goals proved to be the knock out blows to Desert Vista. The remainder of the game saw DV scoring only three more times while the Tigers cranked in nine.
