Issaquah saved its best for last, but couldn't quite finish the comeback and fell in a heartbreaker.

The night started miserably as the Eagles found themselves in a 5-0 hole before finally tallying. Not much seemed to change in early in the second, but a change in personnel and tactics at the quarter finally started to payoff midway through the quarter. Despite being down 8-1, Issaquah began chipping away and 3 goals to close the half had the Eagles confident.

Momentum carried into the 3rd and Issaquah cut the lead to 8-6 before Pinnacle responded to close the quarter. The Eagles didn't falter and scored straight from the faceoff to start the 4th. One goal at a time, they clawed all the way back, remarkably tying the game at 9 with six minutes to play!

With just under 3 minutes to play Issaquah went man-up. But a costly turnover sent the Pioneers the other way. Rather than settle and look to kill the penalty time, Pinnacle took advantage of players substituting behind the play to just attack 4v4 and finish while officially man-down. Despite losing the ensuing faceoff, Issaquah was able to double and force Pinnacle out of the box to regain
possession with a minute left. One final timeout and one final push, but Issaquah's shot was saved and the Pioneers added an empty netter as time expired to close it out.
