| Team Summaries | Curtis Notes: Curtis: 2-6-4-2 = 14 Bellarmine: 1-3-3-4 = 11 Friday Night under the lights rivalry that lived up to the hype. What a great game by both teams. Mike and Greg called a great game. They let the boys play on the field while keeping it safe. The energy on the field and in the stands was amazing and the refs did not try to stop it. First Quarter: Curtis put the first one innate 10:25 and then Curtis Goalie Bill Correll shut the door on the shooting of Bellermine. Bill had 6 saves from a barrage of shots from Bellermine. Cutis scored their 2nd of the quarter with 33 seconds left, but then Magnus Norman won the face and scored 6 seconds later to end the quarter Curtis 2 - Bellarmine 1 Second Quarter: Bellarmine knotted the game up 51 seconds into the quarter. Curtis responded 1:48 later the both defenses and goalies continued to play out of there minds and with aggressive riding by both teams the game went back and forth for the next 4 minutes. Bellarmine Knotte the game up with 5 minutes left in the 2nd. Curtis Peter Stewart took over on the face offs and Curtis went on a 3 goal tear. Bellermine added one with 2:18 left in the 2nd, but Curtis put their motion and offense into gear and finished with 2 more goals to end the 2nd. Curtis 8 - Bellarmine 4 (coincidently the final score of last years battle) 3rd Quarter: Curtis came out of the gate like they finished the 2nd and added 4 goals in the first 6 minutes of the quarter. Bellermine not one to back down finished the last 6 minutes with 3 of there own goals Curtis 12 - Bellarmine 7 4th Quarter: With both teams out of time outs the game went back and forth with amazing transition and close defense. Bellarmine Goalie Kristopher Connor shut down the Curtis Offensive shots. Bellarmine's Sophomore Max Moloznik was assisted by #7 Frank Grant at 6:35. Bellarmine Freshman LSM/face-off Patrick Bliss showed his tenacity and determination after loosing the draw on the ensuing face-off, but then boxing out and winning the groundball feeding it down so Grant could add a goal of his own - Bring the score within 3 with 5:43 left in the game. Pattrick again lost the draw, but came up with possession. Curtis Short Stick Defensive Midde Rocco Koch continued to play amazing defense on Joey Bambrick made a great defensive stand and won the ball for Curtis. They transitioned down feeding Freshman Jayden Gravseth who made a great dodge and added a goal with 4:24 left in the game. Curtis was up by 4. Dane Nager stepped in on the face-off winning the draw so Charlie Phelps could scoop it up. Back and forth it went for the next 3 minutes when Peter Stewart made a great step down shot bringing it to 14-9 with 1:38 left in the game. Bellarmine with there never quit attitude won the next face-off and Joey Bambrick under tough defensive pressure from Rocco Koch saw the cutting middle Cole Tamurin and made a great under pressure pass for the assist. Patrick Bliss won the face off and Bellarmine burried another brining the score to 13-11 Curtis with 36 seconds left in the game. Curtis Peter Stewart won his 17 face-off of the game and Curtis finished with possession. Final Curtis 14 Bellarmine 11 Hats off to all the players. The heart, determination, and want to win was evident on the field by all players and the game lived up to a GREAT SPSL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Good luck to both teams in the upcoming playoffs.
