Lakeridge 1-4-1-0-0- 6
Issaquah 2-2-1-1-1- 7

A gorgeous afternoon for Issaquah's home opener and though the play wasn't always pretty, Issaquah took an unconventional route to a comeback, overtime victory that was quite fitting of the sunny afternoon!

With Issaquah's first unit struggling to find rhythm, the second midfield unit confidently carried Issaquah in the first half initiating and/or scoring every one of the four first half tallies. Issaquah went up 2-0, but a Lakeridge worm-burner inside the last two minutes got them on the board.

The Pacers flipped the script in the 2nd quarter and took control in large part due to two goals from their senior alpha, LSM Cooper Keesee. Keesee scored twice in transition inside a 3 minute span, sandwiching another goal. But a big goal from Richard Skelly and a tally from Rafael Bloch, again both driven by the 2nd midfield, had Issaquah tied at 4. Issaquah seemed to have the Pacer's final chance of the half snuffed out, but lost focus inside the last 10 seconds and one up on the inside to trail going into the break.

Issaquah also gave up the first goal of the second half staking Lakeridge to a two-goal lead at 6-4 with 8:22 left in the 3rd. Oddly, the Pacers wouldn't score again! Bloch tallied again just a minute later to bring it back to one but then it became a huge defensive struggle for 18 minutes of play. Overall, Issaquah had the better of the possession but just couldn't finish. On the defensive end the Eagles did well to stymie the Pacer attack.

Fast forward to inside four minutes left in the game, score still 6-5 Lakeridge, Issaquah coming out of a time out. Botched execution of a play led to a week shot and Lakeridge went the other way. Inside of two minutes and needing to keep it in the box, Pacers called their own timeout. The timeout allowed Issaquah to come out in a double. Nick Anderson and Spencer Blumenthal did their part to win it back and Issaquah had another chance... unfortunately another poor shot and Issaquah seemed doomed. But the Eagles did it again, this time on the fly... a well executed double forced Lakeridge out of the box and enough time for one last rush up the field. After the quick whistle, two quick passes had the ball in Michael Hyde's stick. His burst up field to get the ball had drug his defender with. He turned and quickly beat that defender, dipped inside another and finished before the rest of the defense could collapse- tie game with just 19 seconds left.

In overtime, Lakeridge eventually won the scramble off the faceoff and called time out in their own half rescuing their man that was being tripled. However, out of the timeout, Issaquah did well to double preventing an easy clear and leading to another scramble for a groundball. This time the Eagles came up with it and pushed their own transition. Cale Gunter forced the issue, drew a slide and fed Bloch for the fastbreak finish to win it!
