Twas a Tuesday night, but a football game broke out- if you like offense, this one was for you. Two very similar teams as both played multiple freshmen and both sides struggled to find their place defensively.

Cale Gunter set the tone winning the opening face and going straight to the rack. Issaquah built an early 3-1 advantage before multiple miscues allowed the Wolves to climb right back. Eastlake took a 4-3 lead late in the first but it would be the only lead they held all night. Richard Skelly's second of the quarter quickly tied it back up heading into the 2nd quarter.

Issaquah seemed to take control in the 2nd quarter, two from Michael Hyde and two from Rafael Bloch, in building a 9-4 advantage. Yet, some poor decisions gave Eastlake the opportunities to climb back and they slowly cut into the deficit. To Issaquah's credit they did respond late in the quarter and the 7 goals in the period proved to be a huge difference. Issaquah's last of the half came immediately after Eastlake had cut the margin to three, an instant replay of the first goal of the quarter, Gunter to Densley straight from the faceoff.

The 3rd quarter was a bit odd in that fact that even though Eastlake outscored Issaquah 4-3 in the period to bring the deficit back to just two, it was their failure to capitalize on a big moment early in the quarter that seemed to quell a potential seismic shift in momentum. Eastlake scored the first of the half, but Issaquah responded on a flag down and went into the faceoff man-up. Yet, Eastlake managed to win the faceoff, elude the double and should have scored, but the pipe saved Issaquah. Eagles would eventually push the margin back to 4.

Eastlake wasn't done just yet though. They score the last two of the 3rd and then Gavin Dallas tallied his 5th of the night to start the 4th and all of the sudden it was back to a one goal game. Issaquah kept composure capitalizing on two man-up goals sandwiching a transition goal from Gunter to Bloch to push the lead back to 4. The Eagles then spent the better part of the last 6 minutes burning clock and keeping Eastlake from the ball.

Cale Gunter was an absolute iron man, taking 32 faceoffs. He finished the night with 3 goals, 5 assists and 15 groundballs.
