Cold, rainy night for a classic Northwest lacrosse game between two good teams.

Issaquah started out composed and methodical, building a 4-1 lead in the first quarter on the strength of 4 different scorers, 3 assisted goals and Jordan Snoey's return to action after missing the last contest.

Cue the predictable momentum swings as the Wildcats began chipping in to the lead. A big play just before half saw Issaquah leading 5-3 and appeared to steal possession, but Mount Si retained and scored to cut it to a one goal margin.

Wildcats struck first in the 3rd quarter to tie it up, but Issaquah responded with two straight to go back up 7-5.
But the Eagles's struggles to cover the crease continued as the Kirwin to Saldivar connection struck back to back, their third connection of the night, to tie it back at 7 into the 4th.

Nick Anderson went down late in the third quarter for Issaquah and it showed early in the 4th as the Eagles struggled to find some defensive composure. The Wildcats pounced and rattled off three more straight goals to stake their biggest lead of the night at 10-7. Issaquah's turn to fight back starting with an athletic rebound, dive and finish from Cale Gunter before the Eagles capitalized on a two-minute non-releasable foul, Michael Hyde scoring two man-up to tie it back at 10.

Mount Si capitalized on its own man-up chance, followed by another, both from Landgraf as he completed a 4th quarter hat-trick to put the Wildcats back up two.

Inside two minutes, KJ Lewis struck with a solo dodge and Issaquah won the next faceoff, timeout with 1:20 to play and a chance to tie. Mount Si came out in zone and Gunter found Lewis on the inside, drawing a slash that prevented any shot. Issaquah got a great look at the back pipe on the ensuing man-up but it wasn't meant to be as Mount Si won the groundball off the save and a timeout with under 20 seconds kept them from even needing to clear the ball.
