Team Summaries	Sea Lions Notes: Good first game, both sides had positives and plenty of opportunities. Kids had great energy and parents were supportive. I wanted to mention again just how good of a job the home plate ump Kanan Clifford did. He had a great strike-zone for the age group, a terrific command of the game and knew the rules very well. One of the best home plate umps I can remember in all my years in LL. Strong work! Monarchs Notes: There wasn't a lot of pomp or circumstance, but Opening Day is still the best day. Hooray, baseball! Clyde started things off for the KC Monarchs with a couple innings on the mound. The command wasn't in midseason form, but the power was - he gave up a couple runs but recorded 6 Ks. CJ got his first taste of pitching at Chabot with a solid inning and his battery mate Chipper helped, dropping two assists to nail would be baserunners. Pockets and Moose added innings as well. Defensively, both helped themselves with clean comebackers and Whisper contributed a nifty groundball out. The Mighty Monarchs have some kinks to work out on offense, but but eventually plated 4 on the back of some walks, some hits (nice shot, Bug!) and some aggressive baserunning. Good news - we get to practice twice before our next one! Hat: Bug for jumping into the void and working hard!
