Thank you to Coach Flowers and his staff for a wonderful night of lacrosse. A special shout out to the Rogers High School athletic department for letting us play the home game in the Stadium. What a great venue for a game.

A tip of the cap to the Rogers team. They fought hard and never quit. The new players on the team are athletic and learning the game. It is great to see so many new athletes joining the Roger's squad. Keep up the hard work and the goals will start to fall.

1st:
Curtis came out strong dominating the time of possession, but just not finishing. There were multiple close shots that missed the cage. The Koch brothers got the momentum changed with both adding a goal in the 1st.

2nd:
Matthew Janicki started the quarter with another face-off win. He had an amazing day on the face-off circle winning 12 of the 18 draws. Curtis ran its offense well keeping the defense on the move scoring 4 of the 6 goals assisted and most with a hockey assist as well.

3rd:
The game shifted slightly after the half with it being more of a transition game. Curtis pushed the ball too fast and made mental mistakes in the transition. Rogers settled the offense after clears and kept the possession about even in this quarter. The Curtis defense settled in and protected their goal. Charlie Phelps did an amazing job of keeping scoring powerhouse Payton Hubert off his game. He played amazing hands on defense never allowing Payton to get his hands free for his shot. Charlie held him to two shots the entire game. Parker 'Peaches' Bartkus took either Caleb or Gabe (whichever was on Attack) and kept them at bay as well. Curtis scored two quickly at the 6 min mark one in transition and the other off the ensuing face-off.

4th:
Rogers came out of the break ready to push the pace. Caleb Schaapveld used his speed and strength winning the first face and then his speed to run around X and beat his man to the pipe for a goal. Curtis had too much unsettled play in the quarter throwing the ball away too much. Rogers kept shooting and Bill Coplin did a great job with 4 saves in the quarter. Rogers 2nd goal came from Gabe who pressured the Curtis goalie causing a turn over and an open net goal.

The game was played clean and hard, but with class. Thank you to Keith and Gary for a well officiated game.
