Wild West Shootout... Barn Burner... call it what you will, at the end of the day this was a shooters night and nightmare for those that like defense and goalie play. Hard to fully digest the stat sheet on this one.

Appeared Mount Si might run away with it early as Issaquah lacked energy and the Wildcats blitzed to a 7-2 advantage. Steven Castro's first career goal was the lone bright spot for the purple and gold in the first quarter.

Trend continued early in the 2nd as Mount Si scored twice more making it a stretch of 8 unanswered goals before an Arnold to Bloch goal stopped the bleeding.

Issaquah mounted a touch of rhythm but Mount Si continued to answer and maintain a 6 goal advantage. Much of the same the first half of the 3rd quarter as teams traded goals and Mount Si maintained the 6 goal advantage at 14-8 with 6 minutes to play in the 3rd.

Somehow, Issaquah caught fire posting 6 goals inside those last 6 minutes for a season high 9 goal quarter to shoot their way right back into the game. Cale Gunter kept grinding at the faceoff X and scored a few himself while Michael Hyde and TJ Victory had notched 3rd quarter hat-tricks. Issaquah had fought back to down just one to close the period!

Issaquah carried the juice into the 4th to take a 17-15 lead! From down 9-2 to up 17-15... simply nuts! Wildcats switched keepers and it helped swing momentum again as they responded with four straight unanswered to reclaim the lead.

Issaquah seemed dead in the water, down 2 with only 1:07 to play, but a quick one from Gunter, followed by Victory scoring off a rebound with 24 seconds left tied it at 19! Issaquah won the ensuing faceoff and drew a flag as time expired sending them into OT man-up.

In overtime, Issaquah had one decent look but Mount Si was able to stave off the penalty and earn a possession. Issaquah countered with a key stop but was unable to clear giving Mount Si another possession and this time Henry Ross made no mistake.
