Great night for HS lacrosse in Puyallup as the Jaguars visit the Vikings. Vikings came out fast on offense putting in 3 goals in about 5 minutes in Q1. Their scoring continued in Q2 putting in another 4 goals while holding the Jaguars to only 2 goals in the first half. The Jaguars offense and defense struggled to keep pace with the Vikings. Vikings face off man pretty much controlling the ball at X.
The second half was a different story....
Jaguars offense came alive, crawling back from a 7-2 deficit at half time to construct an 8-0 run. This 8-0 run does not happen without the defense pitching a shutout in the second half as well winning some key face offs and picking up some ground balls.
Senior attack KK top scorer with 4 goals, Conner Verhoeven, Joey Prim and Cameron Dillon each with 2 goals. Riley Verhoeven picked up 7 GBs. Senior captain goalie Conner McMullen had a great night helping his defense keep the Vikings out of the net in the second half, a total of 13 saves on 20 shots.
This is the Jaguars first step towards King of the Hill title for 2021. |
