Gold Rush Notes:
After two wet weekends, the five Intermediate teams would be willing to play in an ice rink or swinging between trees just to get some baseball in... fortunately, the weather was perfect, Montera was perfect-ish and we were able to play some ball!

The Seals started strong, putting up at least a run in each of the first four innings despite quality pitching from 3 Gold Rush hurlers. 2Fer, Pockets and the Beast gave up not much more than soft contact but a few well timed walks meant it was enough.

The Gold Rush offense came alive in the 4th inning, as a couple singles and some aggressive baserunning plated two. In the top of the 5th, Fingers knocked in a run and eventually came around to score knotting the score at 5-5. Clyde powered through a quick bottom half of the inning setting up a dramatic finish.

Sweet Lou and Verne took the mound and kept the game tied through the 6th. In the top of the 7th with one out, EJ and Fingers both singled. EJ scored the go-ahead run on a bad pickoff and Clyde knocked in the insurance run shortly after.

Verne gave up a leadoff single in the bottom half of the inning (because nothing is fun if it is easy), but he settled down to close it out.

Pitching Notes: WillY passed 20 on his final batter, is eligible for 3/20
