| Team Summaries | Diamondbacks Notes: Diamondbacks v Monarchs Great pitching and solid team defense was the difference in the exciting win over the very tough Monarchs. Daniel’s back up play for a diving force out at second base was special, Mac continues to make tough unassisted plays at first base, Jake pegged a runner going to 3rd in the 5th inning and Carl’s catch in right field to end the game shows the D-Backs can play tough defense. Jake threw a 3-hitter for three innings and Jack tossed a no-hitter for three innings. On offense the D-Backs bats could only produce three hits, though we took the pitch counts deep on many at bats. Jake stole home to get the first run. Jack had two of the three-team hits, scoring the second run on Adam’s RBI single in the 4th inning. The third and winning run was scored when Carl, Daniel and Gabe battled at the plate, all three drawing walks on full count calls, then Bobby battled to draw a walk bringing home Carl with the winning run.
