| Team Summaries | Diamondbacks Notes: The D-Backs played a good defensive game on a cold Monday night at Caldecott field. The cold could not cool off the D-Backs bats that produced 14 hits including 5 doubles. Accurate pitching by the RiverCats and not taking any pitches limited team walks to 3. Adam went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. Joaquin went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. Mac stroked his second bases loaded triple in two games. Noah in the 3rd hit a rocket line drive that the RiverCats right fielder made a great catch to stop. Noah scored the final team run making a perfect slide under the catchers tag at home. There were many D-Back heads up base running plays. Defensively John led off the first inning with an unassisted double play at first. A few innings later Mac caught a foul ball at first base. Then he threw a bullet to Joaquin at third to pick off a runner trying to take an extra base. Adam made a full speed running catch in center field in the 2 inning. Jack grabbed a low pitch off the backstop to tag out a runner trying for home in the 4th. Team pitching was strong with Jake allowing one run in two innings, Jack recording 5 strikeouts in 3 innings and John the closer recording 3 strikeouts in the final inning of work. The D-Backs bats are showing constant improvement as we near mid season and the defensive is producing tough inning ending outs. RiverCats Notes: |
