Game Summary | The Scorpions advanced in the second round of the 'AA' Playoffs by combining 10 hits, great defense and outstanding pitching in win over the Sea Dogs 7 to 2. After taking an early 2 run lead in the first, the Sea Dogs could not contain the bats of Scorpions in later innings. Nathan Mamuyac scored the first run for the Scorpions on a base hit by Connor Smith. Daniel Cooper and Tucker Grigsby scored again for the Scorpions in the second inning and Mamuyac launched a solo HR in the third. In the fouth, the Scorpions added 3 more runs to bring their total run count to 7. In the 5th, the Sea Dogs started a comeback by loading the bases with Matt M., Tyler and Allistair. With the Sea Dogs' Matt R at the plate, Matt blasted a 0-1 pitch deep to center field, where Alex Moss tracked it down for the out and then double up the runner at second with a tremendous throw. The Scorpions pitching was also outstanding with Zack Henrikson and Connor Smith combining for 10 K's and giving up only 4 hits. |
