The Canadians squeaked out a victory over a determined Eagles team 5-4 at Coaches Field in the second round of the AA tournament. The Eagles jumped on the Canadians quickly in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Max Stayman led the Eagle attack with a blast to deep left center field. The Canadians settled down and scored two runs in the second and one each in the fourth, fifth and sixth to ice the win. Jack Hyland had three hits with three trips to the plate to pace the Canadians. Julian Boyce added a clutch hit with the bases loaded and two outs that pushed two runners across the plate. Daramani Swift pitched flawlessly for three innings to fuel the Canadians defense. |
