Game Summary The Eagles and the Ports played a close and exciting game on a gorgeous Sun. morning at OAB #1. The Eagles were led on the mound by Johnny Trainor who retired the side with 3 strikeouts in the top of the 1st. The Ports were led by Elan Bernstein who kept the Eagles off balance through 2 innings. The Ports scored first with 4 runs in the top of the 2nd keyed by 3 successive hits by Dermot Harris, Cricky Blossom, and a double by Stephen Turney. The Eagles came back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd with a 2 RBI double by Josh Newborn who had his 3rd straight strong game at the plate. The Ports opened their lead with 3 more runs in the top of the 3rd keyed by an RBI double by Cricky Blossom putting the Ports up 7-2.

The Eagles came up big with a huge rally scoring 6 runs to take the lead 8-7 in the bottom of the 3rd after a Port pitching change. The big hit in the inning was a bases loaded triple by Sam Yeider off the fence in right center. Andrew Yungert also contributed a key 2 out RBI to keep the inning alive. The Eagles scored 6 more runs in the bottom of the fourth led by Andrew Fuerch, Brady Hirch, Ryan Jones and Austin Blessing who all had strong games at the plate to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead after 4. The Eagles pitching staff led by Peter Walton and Max Stayman kept the Ports from scoring again until a 3 RBI bases clearing double by Elan Bernstein in the top of 5th to bring the score to 14-10. Max Stayman struck out 2 of the next 3 batters to lock down the win.
