Game Summary On gorgeous Sunday afternoon, the Grays beat the battling Hammerheads 15 to 3. The Hammerhead's starting pitcher, Miles Harte kept his team close for the first two innings, allowing only three runs. With two outs in the first inning, Leo Grossman scored Alex Rollins, with a sharply hit single. This was one of the Grays' four two out rallies. The Grays’ starting pitcher Willie Devaney shut out the Hammerheads in the first inning and only allowed two runs in the second and struck out six batters.

With a gray hawk circling over head in the third inning, the Grays lead the Hammerheads 3-2 but began to dominate the Hammerheads. Batting left handed Devaney smoked a triple to right field. The next batter, Pete Stathakos's ground out scored Devaney and accounted for one of his 5 RBI's in the game. The Grays’ relief pitcher Alex Rollins came in for the third and fourth and struck out five in two innings and allowed only one base runner.

In the fourth inning Kai Henderson led off with a double. Next up, Alex Rollins brought Henderson home by smacking a hard ground ball that he stretched into a triple. Chris Lee singled to score Rollins.

The fifth inning was the most dramatic. In the top of the fifth Pete Stathakos hit a two out, two-strike grandslam homerun that broke open the game.
In the bottom of the fifth, the hard throwing Chris Lee was pitching for the Grays. John-William McGovern, playing first base for the Grays, alertly tagged the runner who had reached first safely but had rounded first and so could be and was tagged out. Chris Lee pitching in the fifth and the sixth innings struck out three batters and had two ground outs. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, the Grays brought in their closer, Kai Henderson to shut down the Hammerheads.
