Game Summary The Desert Dogs came back from a 3-2 deficit by scoring seven runs in the fifth inning and then holding off the Hammerheads for an 11-3 victory. The rally was highlighted by bases clearing doubles by Sam Edie and Patrick Glass after the strong Hammerhead pitching and defense held the Desert Dogs scoreless through the first three innings.

The Hammerheads jumped off to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning but the hard-throwing Desert Dogs relievers, John Tierney and Edie, shut out the Hammerheads the rest of the way and helped the Dogs notch their first win. The game was well played by both teams with several outstanding defensive plays by both teams.

Myles Harte, the Hammerheads intial pitcher pitched three great innings holding the Desert Dogs to no runs. Catcher Jeffrey Derenthal and third baseman Matthew Feucht caught a Dersert Dog in a run down to home. After many throws back and forth, Jeffrey Derenthal tagged the running out. Later Jeffrey Derenthal would injure is ankle but stayed in the game at first making the next three outs.
