In a rare Tuesday night game the Grays defeated the Diablos 12 to 1. Thanks especially to speedy baserunning by Willie Devaney and Joey Moreira the Grays scored 6 runs in the first inning. In the second the Diablos threatened when Sam Stone hit a shot to the outfield. But John-William McGovern took the cutoff and gunned the ball into catcher Will McKee who tagged out the runner. Tensions rose as the Devaney brothers faced off, with Willie Devaney on the mound for the Grays and Pat at the plate. Mom breathed a sigh of relief as Pat worked a seven pitch walk. |
