Game Summary | The Grays beat the Desert Dogs 6-3 in a thrilling afternoon of baseball. The hard throwing Desert Dogs starter John Tierney faced 8 batters, struck out 5 and held the Grays scoreless for two innings. The Grays' starter, Alex Rollins psyched to be playing against some of his classmates from school, kept the score close allowing only 2 runs in three superb innings, striking out 7. After the Grays scored 2 in the third to even up the game, the Grays' bats came alive in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, Pete Stathakos sliced a line drive into the right field corner for a stand-up triple that scored three runs. After Pete scored the Grays were up 6-2. The Desert Dogs rallied in the sixth, scoring one run but Leo Grossman in the outfield was able to hold runners to one base on successive singles and ace closer Kai Henderson struck out the last three batters with bases loaded to end the rally, the Desert Dogs hopes, and the game. |
