| Game Summary | Playing short handed, the Knights fell to the undefeated Rockhounds 16 to 8. The Knights led early 4-0 after two innings of strong no-hit pitching by Alon August. The Rockhound bats finally erupted in the third for 8 hits and 12 runs. The Knights closed the gap in the 4th inning, but it was not enough as Rockhound pitcher Peter Baldwin closed out the 5th and 6th innings. Steven Stein, and Zack Seidl made their pitching debuts for the Knights,each recording their first career strike outs. Alon August also cleared the bases with a blast to the fence in the fourth inning. Peter Baldwin led Rockhound hitters with a single, double and a triple as the Rockhounds pounded out 12 hits. All Rockhounds scored in the ballgame. Defensively for the Rockhounds, Matt Goodwin made the play of the game at third base and strong pitching debuts were made by Kyle Phillips, Jordan Yee and Pascal Cristofalo. A good time was had by all!! |
