In a tightly played Friday night game the Grays defeated the Rockhounds 4 to 1. Alex Rollins started on the mound for the Grays, pitching 3 innings of shutout ball, striking out 8 and making an unassisted put-out at first. In the fourth inning the Rockhounds threatened, loading up the bases. On a line drive to right field lead off hitter Matt Goodwin crossed the plate, preventing a shutout. Right fielder Alejandro Wlassowski gunned the ball home to catcher Will McKee who made the tag for the third out. The Rockhounds hopes in the sixth inning were dashed when a towering shot to deep left field was snagged by left fielder Jesse Barlow. |
