Team Summaries Royals Notes:
The Giants and Royals played a game for the ages. With the Royals lefthander Michael Gr. on the mound one might think this game would be an easy one. But the Giants came out swinging and with some faulty defense the Giants took off to a commanding 7-2 lead. In the bottom of the 4th inning the Royals pushed one run across the plate before Tommy O. came to the plate with the bases loaded. He promptly deposited a line drive shot over the right field fence to even the score. The Royals then added 2 more runs keyed by a Ryan B. triple.

The game went to the 6th inning with the score 9-7. With the Royals needing 3 outs to secure the win the Giants would not die. They pushed across 2 runs to tie the score. Then the dramatics started. After retiring the first batter Mark B. stepped to the plate and quickly fell behind 0-2, the next pitch was promptly deposited over the left field fence for a walk off home run victory for the Royals. Zander Y. picked up his first victory of the year.

For the Royals Tyre M. had 3 hits and played great defense in the field with a strong throw to the plate to hold a would be run at third. For the Giants Isaac Y. and Christian H. both had 2 hits and 2 runs batted in.

With the White Sox subsequent 7-2 victory over the A’s the Royals clinch the NOLL title for 2003.
