Game Summary | The Yankee bats were hot once again as they pounded out 14 hits to sweep the season series with the Rangers and take over sole possession of 1st place in the South. Thomas Mora pitched 5 strong innings to notch his 6th win. Mora (3 for 3), Matt Balich (3 for 4, 2 runs) and Yogi Varinsky (3 for 4, 3 runs) shared offensive MVP honors. James Singer played solid infield defense. Alex Robles went 3 for 4 to lead a valiant Ranger comeback effort in the late innings that came up a couple of runs short. Michael Moyer pitched well and went the distance. Mike M. took his second loss (the first was also to Thomas M. and the Yanks), dropping his season record to 7 and 2. |
