Red Sox Notes:
Red Sox ace pitcher Eric J., pitched 5 scoreless innings and struck out 11 Orioles before stepping down with runners on base in the bottom of the sixth. Two Oriole singles then secured the victory for the Orioles at 1-0. The Oriole pitching stopped the Red Sox offense cold, allowing no hits, and striking out 13! The Red Sox were able to get only four base runners, 3 from walks and one when Nikoh H. was hit by a pitch. There were a few outstanding defensive plays by the Red Sox. Jake L. made another outstanding catch in right field, and Nikoh H. made two nice plays from shortstop. Otherwise, there was not much action. It was a real pitcher’s duel, with a combined 24 strike outs! The Red Sox record is now 4-4.
