Royals Notes:
Well we did not have a beautiful Saturday afternoon; the skies were
threatening rain all day, the Rangers and Royals picked up after having last
week shortened by rain. Mike M. took the mound riding high from his
previous no hit game. Zander Y. quieted the buzz in the crowd by
starting the game off with a single to right field. Devon B. stopped the
Royals first inning rally by gunning out a runner at third base. Mike M.
opened the bottom of the first slapping an infield hit to the left side.
After some shaking fielding by the Royals, Alex R. lined a double
scoring two runs. In the second inning Larry A. hit a shot to right
center driving in a run, giving the Rangers a 3-0 lead. They tacked on
another run and led comfortably 4-0. Then the big bat of Mark B.
powered one over the center field fence to bring the Royals to within 4-1.
But on this day Mike M., supported by great defense and timely hitting,
was too much for the Royals. For the Royals Michael G. made one of the
best catches this coach has seen ranging far into right center field
snagging a line shot that was targeted to bring in another Ranger run.
