Islanders Notes:
The Islanders took the field Sunday with two things they won't have again anytime soon - clean socks and a teamwide case of butterflies.

'Duke took the ball for the honorary Opening Day start and made the most of his time on the mound. 3 batters faced, 3 strike outs and just 15 pitches. In the top of the second, he knocked Rocky in for the first run of the season, too.

RollerCoaster read Duke's script (throw well then hit well) and followed it. In the bottom of the third, RC threw to infield contact and then in the top of the fourth he plated 3 with a single to left that evaded the Mudcats' OF. Skittles reloaded the bases with a bunt single and BoomBoom wore a bruise to knock in the final run of the inning and the day.

Wubba made the defensive play of the day - fading back from SS to shallow CF to turn a Texas Leaguer into a tough out. Doctor was especially effective on the mound, completing his inning in just 11 pitches. With back to back games, Team Haka will need more pitching like that - there are still 6 more innings to eat up this weekend!
