| Team Summaries | Timber Rattlers Notes: The Sea Dogs and T-Rats meet for the third time on a perfect Sunday afternoon... Clyde took the mound for the T-Rats' first playoff game and he started with a bang. He induced a pop fly from the first batter, but while backing up to catch it, he tripped over the pitching rubber. Ever calm, Clyde caught the ball while flat on his back, then struck out the next two batters. The T-Rats posted 2 in the bottom half with Thunder and Fingers each knocking in one with singles. The Sea Dogs scored one in the third on an infield pop that nobody could corral. Lightning came in and shut the door, tho, limiting the damage. In the bottom of the 4th with the Sea Dog starter tiring, the T-Rats added an insurance run when Verne's grounder to second trickled through. The insurance run was key, as MarcoC walked and stole his way around to score in the 5th. The inning could have been much worse were it not for Mango's catch of a drive to left-center. Thunder closed the game with 3 consecutive Ks in the 6th, and the T-Rats advance by the skin of their fangs. Called Up: Lightning Sea Dogs Notes: |
