| Team Summaries | Timber Rattlers Notes: The T-Rats and Bulls faced off, with both teams ready to stretch out their pitching staffs. 11 innings thrown by 11 different pitchers - a great display by both teams! Stub started for the T-Rats, his first time toeing the rubber, and was remarkably efficient. 20 pitches were enough to get thru 7 Bulls batters, allowing just a lone run. 3 of his batters grounded to third, and Chester made clean plays on each and every one of them. Verne kept it close in the top of the second, ending the inning with a great 1-5 forceout to Wingles! Inspired, Thunder cleared the bases with a shot to right to give the T-Rats a brief 3-1 lead. The T-Rats were down 3-4 entering the bottom of the 3rd, but they plated the max to take a lead they would not relinquish. Stub had the big moment that inning, with an opposite field triple to clear the bases. In the 4th, Clyde knocked in Bulldog with a double off a tough pitcher setting the stage for Fingers, Lightning and Thunder to close out the game with matching zeroes. Special shout out to Rhino, who was the hardest working T-Rat today. He never had a ball hit to him, but he played somewhere key in every inning and must have logged a mile and a half of 'backup' sprints. Called Up: Stub Bulls Notes: |
