Baseball in February - reason #214 that living in California is a wonderful thing!

The T-Rats took the field Sunday with two things they won't have again anytime soon - clean socks and a teamwide case of butterflies.

Chester led things off with a walk and the T-Rats played small ball to plate 2. Thunder pitched effectively in the bottom of the first, walking but stranding 2 Hammerheads.

The T-Rats kept the pressure on over the next two innings. In the second, Clyde pounded an RBI double to left and Bamboo scored another with a 9 foot single. The third inning belonged to Thunder. In the top, he hit an RBI double and in the bottom he struck out 3.

Verne and Clyde relieved, each throwing an inning. They each struggled with a combination of first game jitters and acute hypothermia as California day turned to Arctic evening, but each of them worked through some walks to complete their inning.

The T-Rats rallied again in the 5th to put the game out of reach, highlighted by Stub's shot to right center.
